O Happy Day
Thursday was a happy day in our class. We learned about the letter Oo and celebrated Valentine's Day. For our art project, we dipped the end of paper rolls into paint and made lots of colorful O's. Students decorated bags to hold their valentines, made an octopus, talked about occupations and pretended to be an octopus (swam away from a shark and Orca and saw a mermaid). During Bible time, we sang songs, practiced our Bible verses and listened to a story about how Jesus loved the children. We also had a special valentine snack, played in the gym and had "show and tell". Then we shared our valentines. O Happy Day! Wishing you and yours a very happy day of love on this Valentine's Day.

Go Colts!
So what does the letter Nn have to do with the Super Bowl, you ask??? Newspaper footballs, of course! We took old newspapers, wadded them, rolled them, twisted the ends and taped them to make a football out of newspaper. We had blue napkins and cups during snack and our snack was served from a football bowl. Our class will be cheering for the Colts...although Alex likes the Green Bay Packers and Ty still likes the Bears. Adorable!
Miss Georgeanna works with Alex as he practices writing his name. We work with each student individually during center time.

Noodles and Necklaces
Hooray for Groundhog Day! Tuesday was February 2nd. It was sure a day to celebrate. Miss Georgeanna came back from her visit to Florida. Our class was so glad to see her. (Thanks to Miss Julie for filling in during the month of January.) We celebrated Groundhog Day by singing with a groundhog puppet. It was such silly fun.
This week our class is learning about the letter Nn. We glued noodles on the letter N and made necklaces with nine beads. (Max wanted some blue beads for the Colts!) We also threw paper napkins in the air and "tried" to catch them and danced "the napkin dance". Our students are practicing name writing. Nn is also for numbers, so we reviewed our numbers with flashcards. We were actually so busy, I forgot to take pictures! More Nn activities planned for Thursday.
